As a long time Fort Worth resident, I am continually amazed with the wonderful resources available for our citizens. One of the jewels in Fort Worth that I’ve discovered is the UNT Health Science Center, where important work in Geriatric Education and Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease research is happening.
To connect the community with the Health Science Center’s
powerful resources, the Healthy Aging Council (HAC) is a bridge
toward partnership for creating a better quality of life for our valued
seniors. In addition, the council provides education opportunities for
all of us interested in becoming empowered by new knowledge of the
advancements in care for healthy aging. Our council embodies the well-known civic pride in our area, and is composed of people who want to give something back to the community.
We are aware that healthy aging is everyone’s goal, but with a tremendous number of our citizens approaching older age, we realize we cannot do it alone. Community involvement is crucial in order for us to ensure a good quality of life for everyone.
I’m proud to introduce you to the Healthy Aging Council. Please take a look at our Annual Report which highlights our success in these areas. I think you will be impressed with the great work going on at the Health Science Center. Please consider being involved in the Council and helping to spread the word to others in the community.
Thank you in advance for being a part of the Healthy Aging Council and the UNT Health Science Center.
Chair, Healthy Aging Council
